About Chris

I find it hard to describe myself but I’ll give it my best shot.

I was born outside of Toronto (although it’s now part of Greater Toronto Area) and spent most of my childhood growing up in Calgary, AB . Needless to say, I am not all that well received in provincial-rival Edmonton. I moved here to go to university, met my wife and have been stuck here since.

Professionally, I graduated with my Bachelor of Education and found myself in a position where teaching jobs were a mere 1.5 hour commute, one-way. Throughout my post-secondary education I excelled in a commission-based retail sales environment, so I made decision to apply myself full-time until my teaching prospects opened up. When they finally did, I wasn’t paying attention. I had discovered a passion that I need to pursue. Although I was successful in my sales career, I feel my true strength is leadership.

In my personal life I have many things to be thankful for: my wonderful loving wife, my adorable and inspiring daughter, loving families, my friends and the opportunities I have been granted along the way. I am a HUGE sports fan, I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing basketball, running and watching television.

My wife and I love to travel and experience new cultures. For our honeymoon we spent six weeks in Thailand and most recently (2010) spent 4.5 months backpacking Australia, New Zealand, Kuala Lumpur, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.

I decided to start writing a blog because I believe I have an interesting take on situations and these events can make for a good story. Hopefully I can make this blog worth the time it takes to read…enjoy!
